Diabetes

Diabetes is actually a group of diseases that affect how the body uses blood sugar (glucose).
Glucose gives energy to the cells in your muscles and your tissues.
Your brain also loves sugar as its main source of fuel.

However, too much glucose in your blood can lead to major health issues,
such as the different types of diabetes (1, 2, gestational, monogenic and type 5).

A balanced diet can assist in stabilising blood glucose levels,
reducing complications through high-fibre, low-GI foods,
timed carbohydrate intake and limited intake of saturated fats.
