Rebates available:
Private Health Insurance for Dietitian Services
Some Private Health Insurance Funds will cover dietitian consultations depending on your level of cover. Please consult your insurance provider or the wording of your policy for information on rebatable items. PMDS invoices can be submitted to your insurance company to claim the amount.
Medicare Rebates for Dietitian Services
You do not need a referral to come and see us, but Medicare rebates will only apply if a referral from your GP is in place.
Referrals can be provided within a Chronic Disease Management plan (CDM) or Team Care Arrangement (TCA). The current Medicare rebate is $61.80 off our consult fee. A CDM plan allows for up to five Allied Health Services per calendar year (up to 20 for Eating Disorders treatment).
The rebate amount varies by item number:
Item number 93074: Dietetic video consultation (Telehealth) incl. eating disorders $61.80
Item number 93108: Dietetic phone consultation (Telehealth) $61.80
Item number 81125 (group service for type 2 diabetes): $19.75.
Cancellations:
We need at least 48 hours notice for any cancellation to avoid being charged a cancellation fee. We realise emergencies do happen and our fees will be waived in the event of a genuine emergency.
Re-scheduling a consultation also requires a 48-hour notice period. Kindly contact us by phone (0418 138800) to arrange a new appointment time.
